In a tight contest at Red Bull Stadium, the Riverside Red Bulls edged the Marysville Monarchs by the score of 9-8. Riverside catcher Tadahisa Iwamoto, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Riverside reliever Daryl Billyard picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Joel Scoley was saddled with the loss. The 4th-place Red Bulls improved to 75-71.

The Red Bulls were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when center fielder Omar Fernandez turned a 2-1 fastball from Joel Scoley into a 2-run double. The walk-off double sent a roar through the crowd and gave Riverside a thrilling 9-8 win.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Iwamoto said.
