The Wichita Wolverines beat the Riverside Red Bulls, 9-5, at Red Bull Stadium. The Wolverines got a fine performance from second baseman Juan Gruzmán, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The first-place Wolverines, at 84-60, now lead their division by 5˝ games.

Gruzmán had a key at-bat for Wichita early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 5th triple of the season and gave Wichita an early 1-0 lead.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Gruzmán.
