The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats beat the Rock River Rats, 3-2 at Bloomfield Road, in part due to right fielder Kanzaburo Takahashi, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Buzzard's Bay reliever Takashi Toru picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-4. Josh Hunt was collared with the loss. The Beetlecats bumped their record to 76-70 with this latest triumph.

Takahashi had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 curveball from Josh Hunt, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Beetlecats a 3-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Takahashi.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Takahashi.
