Topeka Predators starter Noah Zwicker turned in a top-notch performance against the Pacifica Shamrocks at McCormick Field. The result was a win for the Predators, 3-0. Zwicker, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing no earned runs. Pete Tupper was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.
Topeka used the bat of Germán Peña to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Predators ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Joe Leftwich.
Topeka is now 72-73, while Pacifica is 94-49.
