Black Bears Get Road Win, 4-2
|
Fraser Valley Black Bears starter Bruce Patterson was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Silicon Valley Hackers, 4-2. Patterson, now 9-6, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 1 earned run. Ken Morita was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
With no one out in the top of the seventh, John Hardwick stroked a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 118th hit of the season and put Fraser Valley in front, 2-1.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Hardwick.
The Black Bears bumped their record to 78-65 with this latest triumph.
