The Phoenix Lights got a stellar performance from pitcher Ben Sullivan, who handcuffed the Long Island offense en route to a 2-0 win at UFO Field. Juan Salinas was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 35 of 39 save opportunities. The Lights bumped their record to 70-70 with this latest triumph.
Had Yutaka Ikeda not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Ikeda hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Lights.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Sullivan.
