Wolverines Win, Isaac has 4 hit night
|
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Alan Isaac, the Wichita Wolverines defeated the Boise Hawks, 7-3. Isaac went 4 for 4 with 2 triples, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Wolverines. Cliff McDaniel, credited with the save, is now 3 for 6 in save opportunities. The Wolverines bumped their record to 82-59 with this latest triumph.
Juan Gruzmán, who is tied for 5th in the FFL with a .417 on-base percentage, aided the Wichita cause with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Wichita manager Dave Moran.
