Jail Birds Come Up Short at San Antonio
|
The Newark Jail Birds wasted an inspired, 7-inning effort from starter Ernesto Trevino, falling 2-1 to the San Antonio Storm Troopers at The Clone Army. The Storm Troopers bumped their record to 77-65 with this latest triumph.
Peter Southern helped out the San Antonio cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk.
Afterward, Storm Troopers manager Thom Long was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
