Montero, Beetlecats Beat Ducks, 8-4
|
Spirited fans at Long Island Stadium greeted the Long Island Ducks for their clash with the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats.
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats dealt the Long Island Ducks a 8-4 loss at Long Island Stadium. Jesús Montero was the star on offense. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Cesar Garcia got the win, improving to 4-7. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Ji-hwan Yea was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 33 of 36 save opportunities.
Early in the game, Montero had a 2-run home run for Buzzard's Bay. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Beetlecats on top, 3-1.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Montero told the Buzzard's Bay Bulletin.
