Fans who came to The Coliseum watched the Sandy Springs Spartans and the Phoenix Lights fight to the finish.

A 6-RBI performance from catcher Roberto Vargas, who is tied for 10th in the FFL in home runs with 21, led the Sandy Springs Spartans to a 7-6 win over the Phoenix Lights. The Spartans bumped their record to 75-63 with this latest triumph.

Vargas had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Spartans went on to win.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Sandy Springs manager José Parra.
