Hawks Win at Wichita, 2-1

The Boise Hawks topped the Wichita Wolverines, 2-1, in Cory Lidle League action at Howling Park. The player of the game was Boise pitcher and El Limón, Venezuela native Juan Pérez. Pérez got the win, improving to 7-7. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. Pérez allowed 1 earned run. The Hawks improve their record to 71-68 with the win over Wichita.
Ed Mathias helped out the Boise cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman was 2 for 3 with a double.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Pérez.
