Kordonskaya drives in 4 runs as Mustang Squeeze Past Long Island

Both teams had their chances, but the Carson City Mustang eventually prevailed at Long Island Stadium.
The Carson City Mustang powered past the Long Island Ducks, 9-8, at Long Island Stadium. Vahe Kordonskaya went 2-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4, to lead the charge. Gerry LaForest earned his 16th save in 21 chances.
Kordonskaya had a game-changing double in the top of the seventh. On a 1-1 cutter from Steve Misiak, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the Mustang a 4-2 lead. It was the 21st double of the year for Kordonskaya.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Kordonskaya said.
The Mustang bumped their record to 69-67 with this latest triumph.
