Bulldogs Get Road Win, 6-2
|
The Spokane Bulldogs topped the Cincinnati Snaps by the score of 6-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Aaron Basile. Basile was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Bulldogs on the day. Tom Bennett was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 1 strikeout. The 4th-place Bulldogs raised their record to 72-65.
Paul Nolan's at-bat in the top of the sixth inning was a big one for Spokane. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Spokane leading 4-2, the catcher reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Spokane manager Chris Carpenter.
