Red Bulls Stymie Buzzard's Bay, Take 6-1 Win
|
The Riverside Red Bulls topped the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, 6-1, with catcher Tadahisa Iwamoto playing a big role. Iwamoto was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Red Bulls in the win. Riverside reliever Pablo Merced was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Cesar Garcia took the loss. The Red Bulls bumped their record to 68-68 with this latest triumph.
Haruhiko Yamanaka, who is tied for 9th in the ACL in RBI with 70, aided the Riverside cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder went 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Yamanaka. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
