Victory Pushes Black Knights Record to 24-23
|
Brooklyn beat San Francisco on the strength of starter Jan Shirazi's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Ti-an Dan nailed down his 8th save. Brooklyn's record now stands at 24-23, placing them third in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
Brooklyn used the clutch hitting of Nobuhisa Ito to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to give the Black Knights the lead, 2-0. For the game, Ito had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Shirazi told the Brooklyn Gazette.
