The Long Island Ducks took Riverside pitcher Héctor Bello's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Red Bull Stadium. The final score had Long Island getting past the Red Bulls, 3-2. Bello went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 9. Long Island reliever Joe Schrock picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Héctor Bello was saddled with the loss. Pedro Herrera notched his 2nd save in 2 chances.
Had David Fuller not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Fuller hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Ducks.
"I had a good game," said Fuller. "Winning makes it even better."
Long Island is now 60-71, Riverside 67-66.
