Cornhuskers Win at Frisco, 5-3
|
The DeKalb Cornhuskers knocked off the Frisco Rams, 5-3, at Outlander Park. Ramón Morales, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason DeKalb won. The shortstop was 2-4 with a double. He scored 2 times. DeKalb reliever Ryan Shelton picked up the win, upping his record to 7-3. Barrett Lamb was saddled with the loss. Luis Domínguez notched his 3rd save in 4 chances.
The Cornhuskers got a big at-bat from second baseman Marc Richards. For the game, Richards was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 10th double of the season gave DeKalb a 2-1 lead.
"I had a good game," said Morales. "Winning makes it even better."
DeKalb goes to 66-67, Frisco to 75-58.
