Phoenix center fielder José Melgaza made his presence felt in the 10-5 Lights triumph over the Wichita Wolverines. Melgaza was 3-3 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 6 runs. Phoenix reliever Bartolo Urbina was the winner. His record is now 4-0. Luis Hernández took the loss. Pete Murphy, credited with the save, is now 1 for 2 in save opportunities.

Francisco Jacobo aided the Phoenix cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher drew 3 walks in 5 trips to the plate.
