Storm Troopers Solve Tune-Ups, 3-2
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers racked up a win at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum, bumping off the Youngstown Tune-Ups, 3-2. Douggie Gimson, who started for San Antonio, pitched effectively for his team. The winning pitcher was Gimson, now 5-8. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Steve Becker notched his 9th save in 15 chances.
Jooki Arroyo contributed to the San Antonio win with a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
