Multi-HR Day for Reddy as Rats Overpower Lights, 7-2
|
Chris Reddy made an impact in the 7-2 Rock River win over Phoenix. Reddy hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Pat Beckett picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits, while walking 7 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 3-5. The first-place Rats, at 74-53, now lead their division by 3½ games.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the fourth, with the game tied, Mario Torres was at the plate when Rock River scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Rats to go in front, 3-2.
Reddy called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
