Victory Over Aces Takes Havana to 33-13
|
The Havana Stogies picked up a win at The Humidor, knocking off the Columbus Aces, 5-4. On the mound for Havana was left-hander Joe Hardy, who played a pivotal role in the win. Hardy, now 9-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 3 earned runs. Abdul Razzaq Kharoti, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 19th save.
Shi-kai Tsu, who is tied for 8th in the RCL in home runs with 10, aided the Havana cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We played hard and won," said Hardy. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
Columbus, at 21-23, has lost 5 straight.
