Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Andrew Aidan, the Sandy Springs Spartans defeated the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 6-5. Aidan went 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Spartans. Sandy Springs reliever Tom Polk picked up the win, upping his record to 5-4. Shu-de Tian was saddled with the loss. Sandy Springs, at 68-55, sits in third place in the Bob Moose League Bruce Bochy Division.

The Spartans got a big at-bat from designated hitter Shoji Hosokawa. For the game, Hosokawa was 1 for 4 with a walk. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 118th hit of the season gave Sandy Springs a 6-5 lead.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Sandy Springs manager José Parra.
