The Phoenix Lights defeated the Marysville Monarchs, 6-5, at Mitts Fieldhouse. Phoenix third baseman Andy Richards was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Juan Salinas, credited with the save, is now 28 for 31 in save opportunities. The Lights bumped their record to 60-60 with this latest triumph.

Richards had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-2 fastball from Joel Scoley, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Lights a 6-5 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Richards.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Richards.
