Wichita pitcher Joe Kearns did his part in helping his team beat the Cincinnati Snaps, 4-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Valentim Carrapa got the save, his 1st in 1 chances. The first-place Wolverines, at 69-53, now lead their division by 3 games.

The Wolverines beat the Snaps with some clutch hitting. The triple by Francisco Enriquez in the bottom of the fourth is a good example. With two down, Enriquez gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he came through with the big hit.

"It was a solid team effort," said Kearns after the game.
