The Spokane Bulldogs got a superb performance from pitcher Gareth King, but the Long Island Ducks still won the game, 5-1. King was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. António Domínguez, the winner, improved to 8-0. He held the Bulldogs to no earned runs on 3 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 5. Jian-guo Yang notched his 6th save in 10 chances.
David Fuller's at-bat in the top of the seventh inning was a big one for Long Island. Coming to bat with two out, a runner on 3rd and Long Island leading 1-0, the designated hitter reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Fuller.
The Bulldogs, at 63-57, have lost 4 straight games.
