Monarchs Bang Out 8-5 Win Versus Newark
|
The Marysville Monarchs defeated the Newark Jail Birds, 8-5. Earning player of the game honors was catcher Bartolo Muñíz, who went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. The Monarchs improved to 56-57.
The Monarchs got a big at-bat from designated hitter George Cromsie. For the game, Cromsie was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Marysville a 1-0 lead.
