The Jacksonville Hellcats had to overcome a big game from Boise center fielder Salvador Cruz to leave Hellcats Park with a 9-8 victory. Cruz went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Jacksonville reliever Jon Givens picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-9. Katsunosuki Suzuki was collared with the loss. Gabe Loza was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 5 save opportunities.

Jacksonville center fielder Jimmy Wynn contributed to the cause with a single in the bottom of the third. For the game, Wynn was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Wynn told the Jacksonville Gazette.
