Hawks Win at Youngstown, 8-5
|
The Boise Hawks defeated the Youngstown Tune-Ups, 8-5, in Cory Lidle League action at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum, with Boise third baseman Ricardo Garza named player of the game. Sung-moon Lee got the win, improving to 12-3. He worked 7.1 innings, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Hiroo Okimura earned his 30th save in 32 chances.
Garza had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the second inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Hawks went on to win.
"We'll try to build on that win," Garza told the Boise Chronicle.
The Hawks bumped their record to 60-53 with this latest triumph.
