The Sandy Springs Spartans topped the Spokane Bulldogs, 10-5, with catcher Roberto Vargas playing a big role. Vargas slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Spartans in the win. The Spartans bumped their record to 62-51 with this latest triumph.

Vargas had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Spartans went on to win.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Vargas said.
