Spartans Walk Off with Win
|
Chong-hyeon Lee did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the San Antonio Storm Troopers from losing, 5-4, to the Sandy Springs Spartans at The Coliseum. Lee was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Reliever Randy McKinney picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. En-guo Guan took the loss. Sandy Springs has a 3-game win streak, while San Antonio has lost 4 in a row.
The Spartans got a big at-bat from center fielder Pancho Figueroa. For the game, Figueroa was 1-4 with 2 walks and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the 14th, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 83rd hit of the season gave Sandy Springs a 5-4 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Figueroa after the game.
