The DeKalb Cornhuskers bested the Wichita Wolverines by a score of 7-3, with catcher David Giese getting the main credit. On the day, Giese went 2-3 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Cornhuskers. Freddy Aguilar picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Charlie Haydon was tagged with the loss. The Cornhuskers bumped their record to 56-52 with this latest triumph.
