The Columbus Aces got a superb performance from pitcher Aurelien Bonello. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Havana. The Stogies won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, Bonello was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. The winner was Havana reliever Son Mai, now 2-0. The loser was Aurelien Bonello. Abdul Razzaq Kharoti was credited with the save for Havana, his 18th of the season.

Havana took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, designated hitter Kohei Matsumoto hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Matsumoto said.

Havana is now 31-13, 6 games up in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
