The Carson City Mustang beat the Sandy Springs Spartans, 6-3, at Cowboys Stadium. The Mustang got a fine performance from first baseman Pedro Moreno, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 3 with a home run and a double. The winning streak has now reached 8 games for the Mustang.

Carson City took a 4-3 lead on Shino Kikuchi's 40th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Kikuchi hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Sandy Springs pitcher Peng Zhi shaking his head.

"I like winning," Moreno told the Carson City Today. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
