Hackers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Shamrocks
|
McCormick Field was the site of a competitive game between the Pacifica Shamrocks and Silicon Valley Hackers.
The Hackers grabbed a win, 5-3, at McCormick Field, overcoming a fine effort from Pacifica pitcher Grant Huffman. Huffman went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Quiang Tu got credit for the win, improving to 5-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings.
The Hackers got a big at-bat from second baseman Greg Coker. For the game, Coker was 1 for 2, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the tenth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 11th hit of the season gave Silicon Valley a 5-3 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Coker said.
The Hackers bumped their record to 58-46 with this latest triumph.
