Pioneers Prevail, 6-4, Over South Carolina
|
The South Carolina Bombers got a superb performance from first baseman Baber Davi. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Vancouver. The Pioneers won the game, 6-4. In spite of the loss, Davi was named the player of the game. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Todd Couch was credited with the save for Vancouver, his 3rd of the season. The Bombers, at 22-19, have lost 4 in a row.
Kelsey Sherrill, who is tied for 6th in the TML in triples with 3, chipped in for Vancouver with a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Sherrill told the Vancouver Daily News.
