Snaps Bang Out 7-4 Win Versus DeKalb
|
Despite a fine performance by catcher David Giese, the DeKalb Cornhuskers suffered a 7-4 loss to the Cincinnati Snaps. Giese was 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. David Williams, credited with the save, is now 3 for 4 in save opportunities. The Snaps, at 40-63, sit in 5th place in the Bob Moose League Jim Leyland Division.
The Snaps got a big at-bat from first baseman Evan Marks. For the game, Marks was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Cincinnati a 7-4 lead.
Marks told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
