The Cabo San Lucas Toreros got a superb performance from pitcher Masazumi Ohayashi. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Bloomington. The Blazers won the game, 7-4. In spite of the loss, Ohayashi was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs. Oliver Romero was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts. Paco Berroa was credited with the save for Bloomington, his 13th of the season.
The Blazers got a big at-bat from shortstop Fernando Franco. For the game, Franco was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Bloomington a 6-4 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Franco told the Bloomington Citizen.
The Blazers have an impressive 28-15 record.
