Fans who gathered at Outlander Park saw a good contest between the Frisco Rams and Long Island Ducks.
Frisco Rams starter Barrett Lamb was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Long Island Ducks, 3-2. The Rams, at 58-46, lead by one game in their division.
The Rams got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Jiro Takahashi. For the game, Takahashi was 1-1. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 14th hit of the season gave Frisco a 3-2 lead.
During his postgame press conference, Rams manager Will Bartlett told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
