The Spartans had to overcome a fine effort from Frisco pitcher Finley Goddier to grab a narrow 4-2 win at The Coliseum. Goddier went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Sandy Springs reliever Ryouhei Kondo picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-4. Finley Goddier was collared with the loss. The Spartans saw their win-loss record go to 52-47. At the same time, the Rams fell to 57-44.
The Spartans got a big at-bat from shortstop Andrew Aidan. For the game, Aidan was 1-3 with a triple. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 4th triple of the season gave Sandy Springs a 1-0 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Aidan said after the game.
