Both teams had their chances, but the Boise Hawks eventually prevailed at San Jose Municipal Stadium.
The Boise Hawks picked up a win at San Jose Municipal Stadium, knocking off the Silicon Valley Hackers, 4-3. On the mound for Boise was right-hander Sung-moon Lee, who played a pivotal role in the win. Lee went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 6, and struck out 8. His record improves to 11-2.
Matthew Bauer drove in one run for Boise. The 21-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Quiang Tu. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Boise manager Tom Becker.
The third-place Hawks have won 8 in a row.
