The rain came, as predicted, but the Wichita Wolverines and Madison Beehive were able to complete their ballgame.

The Wichita Wolverines topped the Madison Beehive by the score of 9-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Willis Pierce. Pierce was 4 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Wolverines on the day. Joe Kearns got credit for the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 9 innings.

The Wolverines got a big at-bat from left fielder Bob Wright. For the game, Wright was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Wichita a 3-1 lead.
