Ruíz Sensational for Rhinos
|
The Rubber City Rhinos topped the Portland Beavers, 5-1, in Roberto Clemente League action at Waterfront Park. The player of the game was Rubber City pitcher Bob Ruíz. The Rhinos bumped their record to 28-15 with this latest triumph.
Ruíz was in the zone all game. He frustrated Portland hitters while giving the Rhinos 8 innings of quality work. Ruíz threw 96 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 4 punchouts.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Rubber City skipper Larry Johnson.
