Youngstown got a terrific performance from pitcher Luis Vásquez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Frisco Rams. Frisco won the Outlander Park contest, 4-3. Vásquez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs. Frisco reliever Callum Butler picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-4. Keisaburo Kanada was collared with the loss. The Rams bumped their record to 51-42 with this latest triumph.
Kunihiro Shibata hit a run-scoring triple off Keisaburo Kanada in the bottom of the ninth, which put the Rams in front, 4-3. In addition to the triple, Shibata had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Shibata, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
