Black Bears Win at Rock River, 4-2
|
The Fraser Valley Black Bears and Rock River Rats played an exciting game at The Rat Hole.
The Fraser Valley Black Bears topped the Rock River Rats, 4-2, in Bob Moose League action at The Rat Hole. The player of the game was Fraser Valley pitcher Lourenço Russa. Russa went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 5-5.
Dan Groover, who is tied for 10th in the FFL in triples with 4, aided the Fraser Valley cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder drew 3 walks in 5 trips to the plate.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Fraser Valley manager Casey Ramey. "It's usually not just one thing."
The Black Bears bumped their record to 47-44 with this latest triumph.
