Texans Prevail, 5-4, Over So Cal
|
Dallas starter Paul Johnston had a strong outing against the So Cal Republic at House of the Republic. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-4 win. Johnston went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-4. Adrien Clément earned his 7th save in 9 tries.
The Texans got a big at-bat from catcher Yoriyuki Tanaka. For the game, Tanaka was 1-4. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 16th hit of the season gave Dallas a 2-1 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Tanaka said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Dallas's record now stands at 20-22, placing them third in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.
