Ducks Bang Out 10-4 Win Versus Fraser Valley
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Long Island Ducks and Fraser Valley Black Bears came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Long Island Ducks beat the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 10-4, at Long Island Stadium. Long Island center fielder Fernando Gutiérrez earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Stuart Organ earned the win for Long Island. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 11 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 5-2. Maurice Oakley notched his 3rd save in 8 chances.
Gutiérrez had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Ducks went on to win.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Gutiérrez.
With the win, the Ducks improved to 39-47.
