It wasn't easy but the Carson City Mustang made it look that way.

Starter Iemitsu Shiroi shut out the Cincinnati Snaps despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Carson City Mustang cruised to victory, 1-0. Shiroi allowed only 11 hits and rang up 3 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

This year Shiroi has a 6-8 record with a 4.76 ERA in 18 starts.
