Storm Troopers Stay Hot, Beat Predators
|
San Antonio left fielder Jacob Runk was a significant contributor in his team's 6-2 triumph over the Topeka Predators. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times for San Antonio. San Antonio starter Romain Quere was credited with the win after throwing 91 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 7-2. Steve Becker earned his 2nd save in 5 chances.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when first baseman Jorge García, who is tied for 8th in the FFL in runs scored with 57, hit a single. The Storm Troopers went on to win.
In postgame comments to the San Antonio Observer, Runk said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The second-place Storm Troopers have won 5 consecutive games.
