Victory Pushes Blazers Record to 27-14
|
The Bloomington Blazers faced a tough opponent in Vancouver pitcher Jose Munoz, but did just enough to pull out the victory at "The Fort" at B.C. Place by a final score of 5-4. Munoz went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. Mitsuzuka Koyama was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Paco Berroa earned save number 12.
Camden Mansel, who is tied for 8th in the TML with a .554 slugging percentage, aided the Bloomington cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Mansel, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Bloomington now has a 3-game win streak.
