Phoenix shortstop Boys Blok had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 4-3 win over the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats. Phoenix reliever Arturo Mercado was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Mike Wolcott took the loss. Juan Salinas earned his 16th save in 17 chances.
Blok contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Phoenix in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-0, Blok took a fastball from Mike Wolcott and stroked the home run to left. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Lights to leap in front, 3-2.
"I like what I saw today," said Phoenix manager George Alexander Lewis, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
Buzzard's Bay has now lost 4 straight.
